Seven

We made it back from Hawaii and life has been crazy since. My gigi turned 7 on June 25th. We were flying home the morning of her birthday. When we were in Seattle we got a call and gigi was headed to the ER to get stitches in her hand. She was cutting bananas with a steak knife and the steak knife won. 5 stitches later she was put back together. Poor thing what a way to start your special day. The next two days were spent running around planning for her party. She had a very fun time celebrating with her friends, all 18 kids! Yes I am a little crazy. We had to find water proof tape and tape a glove to her hand so she could swim. So here I am house all put back together sitting with my girl and watching Camp Rock. I had to do something to celebrate her even if it is late. So here is a little glimpse into the life of my gigi. She is my heart and I love her dearly. I can't believe that she is already 7. Seems like she just came into my life and rearranged it and she has been keeping us on our toes ever since. So... Happy Birthday my girl...I love you!

15 years

The mister and I jetted off yesterday to Hawaii. We are celebrating 15 years of marriage tomorrow June 19th. When I say that I can hardly believe it. Seems like we were just saying I do and starting our lives together. Young and in love and totally broke. 15 years, a move across country, 2 apartments, 2 houses, and 2 kids later here we are on a beach in Hawaii....no kids with us. I wanted to get all scmoopy and do a slideshow to give you peek into those 15 years but I ran out of time preparing for our trip. It may come next week. I wanted to post a few pics though just for fun. We are on Oahu right now but we are flying to Maui in the morning. Aloha!

How did I ever catch his eye with those glasses(thank God for contacts) ur...or that hair!

The beginning!

We are still look'n good!

My Girl

Gigi and I are driving in the car....

Gigi: Mom did you know that horses can have babies that are different from them?

Me: Yes, but they would probably be the same breed.

Gigi: I know but if the daddy horse was a different breed then they would be different from their mom.

Me: I suppose that could happen.

Gigi: It's just like us mom. I came from your tummy but I am not the same person as you.

Me: Your right honey, your very smart

Another drive in the car with Gigi......

Me: What kind of birthday cake do you want?

Gigi: I don't know.

Me: I can't believe you are 7.

Gigi: I'm not 7 I'm 6.

Me: Well, you will be 7 and how did that happen. How can you be that old?

Gigi: Well mom, that's just the way life is.

* I can feel my heart breaking just a little!!!!

Summer?

Where are you Summer?

(sung to the tune of Where are you Christmas)

Where are you summer? Why can't I find you? Why have you gone so far away? We have so many plans for your warm sunshine, swimming and running by the pool all day. I cleaned my kitchen at least 6 times now, no more snacks now go away.

Where are you Summer? How could you leave me? Please come back and stay. I need you here now, to find my sanity, these children must go out and play.
It's not supposed to be 57 degrees. My shorts are calling me and I shaved my legs yesterday.

Where are you Summer? I need to see you. Please don't leave us behind.
If I watch one more episode of Hannah Montana I think I will lose my mind.
I referee and have to be, the entertainment coordinator.
My ideas have all run dry now and do not have another craft in me.

Where are you summer? Please come back now and save this poor summertime mommy.

I always love you because I send them out to the pool. We spend our days laying in the sun.

You are my favorite of all the seasons because we have so much fun.

Oh please come save me and bring me my sanity, help me to entertain my kiddies.

Summer please don't stay away.
*****************************************************************************
Can you tell I am ready for some summer weather? I know most of you are hot right now with 100 degree temps but it was the high of 60 yesterday and the low was 38. The mountains got a couple inches of snow!!! CRAZY come on summer!

Weekend Warriors

So remember my earlier post about the nice dirt pile I had that we wanted to turn into a pond? It happened this weekend. We order a pond in a box from Costco (love that place), yes they really have a pond in a box and you know what...it rocks! It comes with everything you need...liner, pump, rocks, morter, etc. We were a little skeptical at first so we had a friend that does ponds check it out. He said it looked good to him so we ordered it. Saturday morning we started our project...step 1 dig a big hole (that was mainly the mister's job), step 2 put in liner and place rocks (again the mister's job to move big rocks), step 3 morter rock (again the mister...do you see a theme?), step 4 decorate (that was me), step 5 fill (again I can handle this). Now all I have left to do is some landscaping around it. I am in the process of researching some cool plants...full sun. I am looking for something that will get some height to it but not necessarily a tree. I definitely need color around as well (beige house, beige rocks, beige patio, you see where I am going with this), so if you have any ideas let me know!

The mister using his brute strength to dig a big hole!

Ahhh, all done! Pool party anyone?
